here they are!!

Here are Tripp's one year portraits! I knew they would be good, but I always tend to worry if his real smile was captured or did he use that favorite expression he always does. These pictures are absolutely amazing!!!! Thank you Kim!!

Happy 1st Birthday Tripp!!!!

My baby Tripp is one year old today!! Can I even call him a baby anymore? I am not going to lie, I did get kinda sad last night. I mean it's gone by so fast. I felt like just last week we were coming home from the hosptial and now he's one! Lee said before we know it, Tripp will be off to kindergarten. He's gotten so big in the last year, and he's losing his chubby baby fat. The Lord has blessed us with the very best baby (I know all moms say that...), but he really is so calm and easy going. I am so very thankful for him and how he's changed our lives. So Happy First Birthday Tripp! We love you so much and looking forward to many more happy birthdays!!

Welcome to the world Tripp Whatley! One hour old...

a year ago today...

Last year at this very moment, Lee and I had arrived at Jackson Hospital and settled into my labor and delivery room. Dr. Miller had me check in the afternoon before my induction to start some meds. Talk about nerves, anxiety and anticipation, I had no idea what was in store. Little did I know at that point it would all be painless(well mostly...) and run pretty smoothly.

I forgot to post about the "wild" bachelorette weekend yesterday in my excitement of posting first birthday pictures. I spent this past weekend with my younger sister and 11 (yes, I said 11...) of her closest friends at the beach. It was a lot of fun to celebrate her last girls weekend before the big day. We didn't have the best weather, but we still had a great time. I was glad to be apart of it all, even though hanging out with her friends made me feel really grown up. Here's a picture of me and my beautiful sister from the weekend. Only a few more weeks to go and she'll be a Mrs.!!

tripp's birthday party!

Tripp isn't officially one till Wednesday but yesterday afternoon we had Tripp's 1st ever birthday party! We had it out at the Oaks Plantation and it was perfect! We had two blow ups for the little kids to play on and they were a huge hit. One of them, a blow up playmat, had a slide, tunnel, and ball pit all inside. Tripp sure did love that tunnel once he figured out what it was. We had lots of family and friends come, and Tripp had all of his little buddies there. It was fun to see them all play together. Everyone sang to him and he got to dig into his cake! It took him a few seconds to figure it out, but once he tasted it, he keep going for more. Eventually it was all just little too much for the little man, and he lasted all he could before taking a snooze. He woke up just in time when we got home to open his presents. It was so much fun to see his face just light up when he saw something new. He is so interested in all his new toys, thanks to everyone! He'll have a lot to keep him busy now!! Here are just a few pictures from the party!

the weekend ahead...

What a busy weekend we (or I) have in store! Today, I am headed down to Orange Beach with my sister Alisa and about 10 of her friends for her bachelorette party. She is very excited, and I hope we have a good time and great weather.

Lee and Tripp will have some quality father-son time while I'm gone. They'll be getting ready for the big birthday party on Sunday afternoon when we'll celebrate Tripp's first birthday!!! I am really looking forward to seeing him dig into his little cake. I hope some good pictures will turn out to share.

Have a great weekend everyone!

pictures

Tripp put on a show yesterday! He had his one year portraits made in Prattville at Kim Box Photography (www.kimboxphotography.com). First of all, Kim is wonderful! She was so easy to work with and was so good with Tripp. All of the pictures on their website and in the studio are great, I can't wait to get his back! They should be ready sometime next week....

While taking pictures yesterday, Tripp decided he wanted to start waving. My mom and I were laughing because we've been trying to teach him to wave bye bye for months and all of the sudden he just starts doing it. He was so excited about it, the more we laughed, the more he waved and smiled. I wish I had my camera with me. I know Kim probably caught some of it. We got home and we tried to get him to do it for Lee and my dad and of course he wouldn't do it again.

As soon as the link for his proofs are ready, I'll post it on here so you go look at them.

welcome...

I love reading blogs so I decided maybe I would start one. It will be a fun way to share stories and happenings at the Whatley house. As Tripp is about to turn the big one, he's getting ready to take off! I figure I can pass along his lastest milestones on here with you...

We have about a week and a half before Tripp turns one. We just got back from his first trip to the beach, not so sure about the sand yet, but I think he had a good time. He loves the pool!! I am sure by the end of the summer he will love the beach just as much as Lee and I do. Somehow I hope and pray by the end of the month, he turn loose from the table or furniture that he can walk around and take his own steps!

Here are a couple pictures from the beach...
