bye bye old school, hello new school

Tripp started a new school today! After 2 years at his old school, we decided to move him. It was hard decision to make, but hopefully he will have fun and learn more at his new school. It's a smaller environment and they have a great curriculum.

Walking in to his new classroom. He thought about hesitating, but he was happy to sit down with his new friends and color. Each week, they do a new letter and number, among other things like shapes.

We are really sad about leaving his friends at his old school. He knows them all by name, and would talk about them everyday. Tripp made sure to give everyone hugs when he left on Friday. Hopefully he'll see them again one day soon.

Hopefully he has good day and makes a smooth adjustment. His new teacher is very nice and was excited to see him this morning. I've been telling him all weekend about his new teacher and her name and his new school. I can't wait to hear about his first day this afternoon!

what a weekend...

So after complaining about our lack of sleep, Tripp really threw us a curve when he woke up with the stomach bug at 2 a.m. We were up all night and we saw Dr. Morrison on Saturday morning and thank goodness it was just a little bug. The doc did give him a shot of phenergan and he was asleep before we even got home. He slept a good 4 hours (I slept about 2) and he woke up feeling a lot better. By Sunday, he was completely over it thank goodness.

Sunday we had a big dinner to celebrate some exciting news. Will (Lee's brother) and Margaret got engaged over the weekend. We are so happy that Margaret is joining the family. Tripp loved playing with his uncles last night.

Joe Joe and Lolli got Tripp a new tricycle with a little trailer. He loves it and has to grow into it a little, but he still has a lot of fun. Somehow Hunny got to ride in the back, I don't think she loved it as much as Tripp did.

Congrats Margaret and Will!

sleepy sleepy

Here is a little boy that is becoming very hard to get up in the morning. I realize this must be some sort of payback. He will wake up and call me in his room, but he is not ready to get out of his bed. He may stay in his bed awake up to 30 minutes after he really wakes up. As cute as he is "pretending" to go night night 8 times every morning, it sort of makes getting out the door on time kinda hard.

I'm still sleepy Mommy, come back later...

I realize he may still be tired, because lately he has been waking up 1 to 2 to FIVE times during the night. Most of the time he wakes up calling for me and then I go in there and he wants some milk. Lee said we need to find him a baby big gulp to keep in his bed. This morning at about one something, he woke up yelling for me and when I get to his bed, he hands me his pacifier and tells me to go wash it off and bring him some milk. Seriously... Thank goodness last night it was only that one time, the night before I got up twice and I think Lee got up once or twice as well. Sometimes he just wants you to tuck him back in. I don't know if he's having bad dreams or he's hot/cold but it's crazy that he's waking up so many times during the night. I've thought about and tired letting him "cry it out" but it seems all three of us go back to sleep much faster when you just get up and go in there. I know you are probably thinking he's calling the shots, but this is pretty abnormal of him, and we're hoping its just a phase. Whatever the reason, Mommy and Daddy do not like this new game and hope it stops soon.

That being said, he is still the sweetest, cutest, most precious little boy in the whole world and we love him more than anything (even our sleep)!

it was finally time...

After several comments from family and friends about the "chullet" Tripp was growing, I decided it was finally time for his first haircut.

Here are a couple before shots...

the "chullet"
(named by Daddy and his uncles)

I kinda liked the little "curl" myself...

In the chair like a big boy!

He was really concerned about what she was doing.

The first snip...

Keeping his head still with focus on the candy basket

He was a pro by the end, even letting her use the trimmer...

All done Mommy, how do I look?!?!

The After shot... No more "chullet" or "curl"

We had to call Daddy and tell him all about Tripp's new haircut. He was so proud of himself. He does look like a big boy now, and of course, still so cute.

just hanging around

It's been a while since I last posted. We haven't had anything too exciting going on and have spent the last two nice weekends at home. We thought about the beach and the lake for Labor Day, but decided to just stay put. Tripp loves playing outside and it's finally not so so hot. He loves his tractor and can drive it pretty good now. He's still working on steering, but knows when to stop before hitting anything!

I've posted pictures like this one before, but what's another??? Tripp loves "helping" Lee cut the grass. He loves his mow-mow and gets so excited when Lee gets his lawn mower out. Boys and their toys.... Lee is already looking forward to when Tripp can do it all by himself!
