pumpkin patch fun!

So this weekend we went to the Pumpkin Patch at Dream Field Farms. We had the best time and they had so much to do!! Started off at the petting zoo, which Tripp liked looking at the animals, but did not want to touch them.

Then we went for a hayride to the get our pumpkin. As soon as we rounded the corner of the patch, Tripp gets all excited and points out and yells ball! Which I guess to him it was a field of orange balls.

As soon as we got off the wagon, off he went. He was on a mission to find his perfect pumpkin, only to find they weren't like his balls at home, they were heavy!

After a few attempts of trying to pick the big pumpkins up, we led him over to some that were his size.

After find the perfect pumpkin to take home, we rode the cow train, which was about 6 gallon drums turned on the side cut out so you could sit inside it pulled by a motorized mule.

Tripp loved the racing pigs and tried to go through the mini maze with Lee's help. I think his favorite thing besides picking his pumpkin was the giant inflatable slide.

We had so much fun that Tripp slept all the way home!

check it out...

How cute are these?!?! I was so excited to find this blog, http://rosemarygulledge.blogspot.com. First off, the appliques are all so cute, it was hard to narrow down to 3 (I only ordered 3 shirts, but not to worry I will be getting some more!). To make it even better, Rosemary is very nice to work with. I already had 2 pair of gingham pants that I was trying to match, and she matched the shirts perfectly! You can request any color or fabric type for any of the appliques. It still gets better, she has great prices and she gets them back to you in a timely manner!! You can take her any sort of shirt, bib, etc... She has several websites on her blog to order blank shirts. I ordered from http://www.jiffyshirts.com which jiffy they were (and very affordable). I ordered them Tuesday, and they were here Wednesday, no extra shipping rush fee! I can't wait to order some more shirts and get them to her! She has the cutest Christmas appliques and I love the boot! So go check out her blog!

So lately Tripp has been looking more and more like a little boy! Where has my baby gone?? He loves being outside and would play out there all day and night if we let him. Thank goodness the weather is so nice out! The past few days when I've picked him up from school, he's been on the playground and he doesn't even run over all excited to see me. I think he'd rather stay there and play...

Last week I had a work retreat, so he stayed with his Lolli and Pop (the Whatleys) where I am sure he was the center of attention at all times. But I have to say, the sweetest moment was when I got there and he ran across the backyard with this big grin and met me with the biggest hug! It almost made me cry it was so sweet. I know he got plenty of love while I was away, but it made me feel so good that he was so happy to see me!

Modeling his new pajamas. He hates blankets and covers, so I had to go get him some new winter pjs since its starting to get so cold at night. I am forbidden to turn the heat on until it reaches below freezing outside, so these work pretty well keeping him warm at night.

This weekend we are heading to the pumpkin patch at Dream Field Farms (where he'll be wearing his new cute scarecrow shirt) so next week I'll have some cute pictures to share... hopefully.

trip to the zoo

It was so nice last weekend that we decided it would be a great day to go to the Zoo! Tripp and his friend Price had fun seeing all the animals. While some were hiding and resting, we were able to see a lot of others. We saw giraffes, zebras, elephants, lions, monkeys, chimps, and so much more! We had a good lunch at the cafe and ended the trip with a ride on the train. Here are pictures... We can't wait to go back!

Look at the baby elephant!

Sweet friends!

15 months

Tripp hit the 15 month mark this week and paid a visit to the doctor's office. He weighed 23lbs 10oz and is 30 3/4 inches tall. That's about 2 pounds more and 2 inches taller than his last check-up at 12 months. He's right on track with everything, so they rewarded him with 2 big shots. :( I actually teared up this time... I hate being there having to hold him down for the nurse to do it. I was already aggravated with waiting so long this morning (we were there almost 2 hours just for well check-up!) when the shot nurse came in. Tripp was getting fussy and irritated too at being cooped up in those small rooms. So when the shots came, he really let them and me have it! I just felt so bad/mad, I couldn't help but cry too. But next time I am making Lee go so I don't have to be the bad guy again.

Tripp's favorite new thing are books. We've always read to him, but now he likes to bring the book to you, turn around and back himself into your lap and plop down to hear it. It's really cute, and I enjoy reading to him a lot. We usually go through several a night. He loves the ABC book, Opposites book, and others that he got from his friend Lila. Another favorite is Go Go Trucks!, a cute little book with different types of trucks, but that's all it says - Dump Truck, Mail Truck, Fire Truck, Pickup Truck with pictures. He will sort of mimick truck after each one. I am going to find some new books this weekend to throw into the mix. There are also Go Go books on cars and planes and boats that I know he'll love too!

At 15 months, he's also developing a little bit of temper.... He's starting to "lock up" on me when he doesn't want to do something. He is also testing boundaries a little which is hard because I am not sure how much discipline we can really do at this point. We find it funny sometimes and Lee and I have to catch ourselves not to laugh because he'll laugh too and do it again. Still most everyday at some point, I'll catch Lee's attention and we just watch and smile at Tripp. It's amazing to see his brain working and thinking.

Caught red-handed! Climbing (another new favorite thing to do) into the back of his fire truck. I think he's laughing at Lee telling him no.... Excuse the diaper look, it was probably bath time.

weekend at the lake

This past weekend we went up to Lake Martin with my family. We had a very nice time relaxing and just hanging out. The guys watched football during the day while the girls spent time down by the water. The water was sort of cool, but we still managed. We took a boat ride and enjoyed good food. It's been a while since we've been up at the lake, I forgot how much we love being up there. We'll have to make time to go up there more!! Tripp had a ball, he loved riding on the boat, loved swimming in the lake and most importantly loved being the center of attention!

Ready for my boat ride!

He loved the boat, his favorite part was watching the water over the side.

Giving Bella some love! How cute is he?!?!

Swimming with Mommy!

He loved the chocolate chip pancakes Aunt Alisa made!

Tripp even tried to play Dance Dance Revolution! He loves to dance, any kind of music whether it's on the television or some kind of toy he has, he always bebops along with it! Here's a video of Tripp watching his favorite show Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, watch his moves! He didn't know I was fliming him till the end, but he's so cute just boucning his little bottom along with the beat.

I am sorry you have to turn your head to side, I can't figure out to turn it.

Loving on Sam! Once again the boy loves dogs!

this boy loves...

Bath Time!
After dinner, we ask him "Tripp do you want to take a bath?" He says his version of bath and gets excited. Once we get him undressed, he'll make a beeline to the bathtub in our bathroom. He can climb the steps, and just about get in all by himself. He also knows where his baths take place at both grandparents' houses too!

His Lawn Mower!

He's just recently been able to push it without it tipping over, and he pushes/drags it everywhere around the house!! He got this lawn mower for his birthday from his good friend Gates Garrett. I could hardly get a picture because he wouldn't stand still with it. Maybe this means he'll love mowing the grass for his daddy in the years to come...

Dogs!!

You've seen pictures of Tripp and Sugar... Here is Tripp and Gus (my parents' beagle) and Tripp sleeping with Lily (his Uncle Neal's lab). No matter what dog, he loves watching and trying to play with them. Some can be a little too big, but he doesn't care! There are about 12 dogs in our family, and so I am glad he's not the least bit afraid. Good thing there are always lots of protective hands around!

Lasagna!!

He doesn't eat much veggies (not now at least) but Tripp loves lasagna! I did not help him make this mess just to take a picture, it was all him!!

So these are just a few random cute pictures I had to share. He is becoming quite an adventurous little boy. He's also becoming more and more fun to play with! He surprises me everyday with new things and constantly keeps me laughing (and on my toes). I can't even explain to you how many times I watch him in amazement thinking how blessed we are to have him.

just a few pictures...

We haven't had much going on, just watching football and hanging out. Here are a few picture from the last two weeks.

Tripp learning how to say touchdown while watching the Alabama/Clemson game.

Swinging at the farm... He loves this thing!

Lila loved the swing too!

Okay, the game is over, I'll drive us home now.
