up up and away

I am still waiting to try and post the video of Tripp's first steps, but here are a few pictures.

Up....

... Up ...

and away he goes! (well only like 4 steps...)

I was in another wedding this weekend (more pictures to come) and Tripp was loving being on the dance floor. He found a new friend, they even had a song to themselves.

Tripp and his new friend... Saturday (that's her name)

great pictures.... all by Mike Mancil

guess what!?!?!?

Last Thursday, at 13 months and 2 weeks, Tripp took his first steps!!!!!!!! When I picked him up from school on Thursday, his teacher said "guess what Tripp did today?" and I was thinking he must have bit someone or something like that. Then she told me he took some steps, twice. So we hurry home (thank goodness Lee was already home) and sure enough he did it for us too! After he got going a few times, he walked across the the living room!! We were so excited and called our parents and other friends. He is still wanting to crawl, but sometimes he just gets up and starts taking steps. We are so proud of him!! I have a video that I am going to try and download to post on here, but my camera battery is dead, so it's charging. I hope I can figure out how to post a video, because he's so cute and gets so excited. Hopefully it won't be long before he's toddling around all the time. I know shortly after that, I'll be wishing he wasn't, but I'm still excited for him....

mrs. jones and me!

That's my sister, Mrs. Alisa Jones!

What a weekend... It was a beautiful wedding, she was a gorgeous bride, and it was very HOT! I've posted just a few pictures from the weekend. Of course I did not take hardly any, so some of these were taken by other people. When the wedding pictures are posted, I'll put a link up. Also I hope to get some more pictures so I may post more....

My cute little family at the rehearsal dinner.

Sisters getting the bride ready!

My cousins and Tripp playing before the wedding. Blake (my flower girl) was the jr. bridesmaid and Sellers and Tripp were the ring bearers.

Sellers pulled Tripp down the aisle in a wagon and after the wedding was over, pulled him back up the aisle with the sign and cans attached to the back. It was pretty cute! Oh, and Tripp waved to everyone while riding in the wagon!

Tripp had about all the fun he could handle at the wedding....

But after a quick little nap, he's back ready to party!!

Leaving for the honeymoon!

Everything was great, they danced the night away till it was time to leave and off they went in a horse and carriage. Now they are probably sitting by the beach or in the pool down in the Riviera Maya with a nice cold fruity drink in hand... I can't wait to hear about it!!

going to the chapel...

I am about to leave work and go into full wedding mode. We are now down to just 2 days before Alisa and Richard say I do! I know it's going to be a wonderful weekend filled with fun, family and friends! I promise to post some pictures when I get back to work on Monday!

Have a great weekend everybody!!

Oh, and how do you like the new look? I spent some time last night and early this morning making over my blog. I love it!! I only was able to do it with the help of SJH Blog Design that guides you step by step and I used Shabby Princess for the paper.

happy birthday lee!

Today is my sweet husband's 29th birthday! I am so lucky to have such a great husband, and he is the best father! There is nothing sweeter than seeing Tripp's face light up when Lee comes in from work and Lee gets just as excited to see Tripp. I am so thankful for everything he does for me! He probably doesn't get enough credit for everything he does, but along with working long hours, he often spends more time at home cleaning up after us! I can't imagine my life without him, he is my very best friend! So Happy Birthday Lee! I love you and look forward to celebrating many more happy birthdays!!

bells will be ringing!

For most people wedding season began a few months ago... For us it's about to take off! We have 3 in a row starting this weekend, and then after that, we have several more all the way to the end of November!! It's a good thing that I LOVE weddings!!

Starting off this weekend - my sister, Alisa!
I am so excited for her, and I know she can hardly wait for Saturday to get here. She's had her countdown going for weeks, but we can officially say "the week of" has finally arrived and all the last minute preparations are being taken care of. I look forward to spending this week helping her and mom get it all together. Can't wait to post some pictures next week from the big day!!

beach baby

We have spent the last two weekends in Orange Beach and have had the best time! The first weekend we spent it with great friends, cooking out and spending time in the sand and pool. Tripp enjoyed playing in the sand with the toys, we couldn't get in the ocean because of the jellyfish, they were everywhere!! We had a wonderful time, and hope to make this trip a tradition!

On the 4th of July we headed back down with the Whatleys and spent the long weekend relaxing! They brought down the new golf cart to make it easier getting around, and we loved having it. Those trips to Sam's across the street were a lot easier. We also go to ride around down to the water and Tripp loved helping Lee drive! They also brought down Tripp's little chair, he loved sitting out watching all the boats come in and around the bay. Tripp also took his first boat ride on granddaddy's boat. We strapped him in his lifejacket and off we went. He was a little unsure about the lifejacket at first. He acted like he couldn't move. But he warmed up to it quickly and enjoyed taking in everything. He even waved to other people riding by. I am so happy that Tripp liked it, I have a feeling he'll be spending a lot more time on that boat with his daddy, granddaddy and uncles in the future!

I love riding on the boat!!

In other news, Tripp had his one year check-up!! Everything was great, except the shots. We are officially off of baby formula, have been for a couple weeks now!! He loves whole milk! Also, he has moved up at school to the next classroom! He likes being back with his friends that moved up before him. Another big plus... Tripp doesn't cry anymore when I leave!
