weddings and more...

So we're done with weddings for a couple months before we have a few more. With the past 3 weekends filled with weddings, it gave us a great chance to catch up with friends and family. Two weekends ago, we were in Birmingham for Laura and Todd's wedding. Laura and I have been friends since about elementary school and have been close ever since. Even though she's there and I'm here, we still talk just about everyday (even if it's on gchat)... She was a beautiful bride and I was glad to be apart of her special day!!

Just moments after saying "I Do"

Last weekend we headed up to Marietta, Ga. for Lee's cousin's wedding. It was at a really nice bed and breakfast. All of Lee's brothers and their sig.others were all there, and we had a lot of fun spending time with everyone. Here's a picture of all us right before the wedding...

On the way home from Marietta, we stopped by in Gadsden to see Lee's grandparents. It took Tripp a little bit to warm up, but as soon as Granddaddy Cartee let him play with his tv and chair remote, he was his new best friend.

Tripp's really on the go now!! It took a few days for him to realize that walking was much faster than crawling, but he's walking full force. Still with his hands out for balance, but I am so proud of him! His new favorite toy.... Sugar's leash. We took her outside the other day, and when she came in, all Tripp wanted to do was grab the leash and walk her around. It was hilarious. This lasted for a good 30 minutes before they both got tired and I rescued Sugar.

Okay Sugar, let's go!!

This way, let's go over here....

So I know this was a long post, but we've had so much going on lately. I am really looking forward to staying at home this weekend and not doing too much. I've loved all the weddings, but it will be nice not having to go, go, go!

famous first steps

Here is the video of some of Tripp's first steps he took on Thursday... You can see him take some steps then fall, then get back up on his own and take some more. So you have to look sideways because I can't figure out to turn it, but I did figure out to load it!!

Enjoy!

up up and away

I am still waiting to try and post the video of Tripp's first steps, but here are a few pictures.

Up....

... Up ...

and away he goes! (well only like 4 steps...)

I was in another wedding this weekend (more pictures to come) and Tripp was loving being on the dance floor. He found a new friend, they even had a song to themselves.

guess what!?!?!?

Last Thursday, at 13 months and 2 weeks, Tripp took his first steps!!!!!!!! When I picked him up from school on Thursday, his teacher said "guess what Tripp did today?" and I was thinking he must have bit someone or something like that. Then she told me he took some steps, twice. So we hurry home (thank goodness Lee was already home) and sure enough he did it for us too! After he got going a few times, he walked across the the living room!! We were so excited and called our parents and other friends. He is still wanting to crawl, but sometimes he just gets up and starts taking steps. We are so proud of him!! I have a video that I am going to try and download to post on here, but my camera battery is dead, so it's charging. I hope I can figure out how to post a video, because he's so cute and gets so excited. Hopefully it won't be long before he's toddling around all the time. I know shortly after that, I'll be wishing he wasn't, but I'm still excited for him....

mrs. jones and me!

That's my sister, Mrs. Alisa Jones!

What a weekend... It was a beautiful wedding, she was a gorgeous bride, and it was very HOT! I've posted just a few pictures from the weekend. Of course I did not take hardly any, so some of these were taken by other people. When the wedding pictures are posted, I'll put a link up. Also I hope to get some more pictures so I may post more....

My cute little family at the rehearsal dinner.

Sisters getting the bride ready!

My cousins and Tripp playing before the wedding. Blake (my flower girl) was the jr. bridesmaid and Sellers and Tripp were the ring bearers.

Sellers pulled Tripp down the aisle in a wagon and after the wedding was over, pulled him back up the aisle with the sign and cans attached to the back. It was pretty cute! Oh, and Tripp waved to everyone while riding in the wagon!

Tripp had about all the fun he could handle at the wedding....

But after a quick little nap, he's back ready to party!!

Leaving for the honeymoon!

Everything was great, they danced the night away till it was time to leave and off they went in a horse and carriage. Now they are probably sitting by the beach or in the pool down in the Riviera Maya with a nice cold fruity drink in hand... I can't wait to hear about it!!

going to the chapel...

I am about to leave work and go into full wedding mode. We are now down to just 2 days before Alisa and Richard say I do! I know it's going to be a wonderful weekend filled with fun, family and friends! I promise to post some pictures when I get back to work on Monday!

Have a great weekend everybody!!

Oh, and how do you like the new look? I spent some time last night and early this morning making over my blog. I love it!! I only was able to do it with the help of SJH Blog Design that guides you step by step and I used Shabby Princess for the paper.

happy birthday lee!

Today is my sweet husband's 29th birthday! I am so lucky to have such a great husband, and he is the best father! There is nothing sweeter than seeing Tripp's face light up when Lee comes in from work and Lee gets just as excited to see Tripp. I am so thankful for everything he does for me! He probably doesn't get enough credit for everything he does, but along with working long hours, he often spends more time at home cleaning up after us! I can't imagine my life without him, he is my very best friend! So Happy Birthday Lee! I love you and look forward to celebrating many more happy birthdays!!
